Overview

A bad irrigation system costs you twice.

Once in the water bill, and again in the plants that die anyway because the coverage was never right. Overspray onto pavement, turf zones watering shrub beds on the same schedule, and a controller nobody has adjusted since install — that is the normal condition of most residential systems in the metro.

We design zones around what is actually planted, not around the fastest way to get heads in the ground.

Irrigation
What’s included

Scope, written out.

Every line below appears on your proposal, so you can hold it against anyone else’s bid.

  • Site design with head layout and zone mapping
  • Separate zones for turf, shrub beds, and containers
  • Head-to-head coverage design
  • Drip and micro-irrigation for beds and foundation plantings
  • Smart, weather-based controller with app control
  • Rain and freeze sensors
  • Backflow prevention to code, with documentation
  • Trenching and clean restoration of turf
  • Pressure and flow testing before commissioning
  • Zone-by-zone walkthrough and schedule setup
  • As-built map for your file
  • First-season adjustment visit included
How we build it

The parts you cannot see are the parts that fail.

Zoned by plant, not by convenience

Turf and shrub beds want completely different amounts of water. Putting them on one zone guarantees one of them is wrong all season.

Smart control that pays for itself

A weather-based controller on a typical residential system usually returns its cost in water savings faster than any other irrigation upgrade.

Tested before we call it done

Pressure, flow, and a head-by-head walk with you. Systems that were never commissioned properly are the ones with a dead patch every August.

Serviced by the people who built it

We do start-ups and winterization on what we install, so nobody is guessing where the valves are buried.

Fall special

Irrigation blowout: $75 for up to 7 zones.

Every zone cleared with a commercial compressor before the first hard freeze. $60 per home when 3 or more neighbors book together. Routes fill in order from mid-October.

What it costs

Nobody in this market will give you a number. Here is what actually moves it.

Every landscape contractor in the Twin Cities refuses to quote before seeing the site, and honestly they are right to — access and grade change a price more than square footage does. What we will do is tell you which decisions drive your number, so you walk into the consultation knowing where the money goes.

  • Number of zones — driven by property size, planting variety, and water pressure
  • Head count and type — rotors, sprays, and drip all price differently
  • Controller — basic timer versus smart weather-based control
  • Trenching conditions — established turf, tree roots, and rock all slow it down
  • Backflow and permitting — requirements vary by city across the metro
  • Water source — municipal versus well changes pressure planning

“Of all the companies I called to give me an estimate, Maddi from ProScapes is the ONLY person who followed up with me. She is so conscientious, had great recommendations and took my drawings and turned them into a fabulous reality. Her team was on time, knew exactly what to do and were flexible with my suggestions while on site. They came back a year later to fix a couple of things that didn’t grow back. I recommended them to my neighbors and they too had a very positive experience.”

“We asked them to replace a deteriorating concrete block wall (which we never liked) with a wall of large natural boulders and, if they could, preserve some mature evergreens in the process, and they exceeded expectations. The outcome is beautiful and timeless.”

Our process

Six stages, and you approve before the money moves.

Consultation

A designer walks the property with you, listens to how you actually want to use the space, and flags anything structural — drainage, grade, access — before ideas get expensive.

Site analysis

Soil, sun, drainage, slope, utilities, and existing plant health. This is the stage that separates a design that works from a design that only looks good on paper.

Design

Plan drawings and material selection, with a cost range attached before anyone commits to a full construction set. You see what you’re buying.

Your review

You mark it up. We revise. Nothing gets ordered or scheduled until the plan and the number both have your signature on them.

Installation

Our crews, our equipment. Base photos before anything gets covered, site cleaned to working condition every evening, and a firm end date.

Walkthrough & warranty

We walk the finished work with you, show you how to care for it, and hand over the warranty. Then we’re available for the maintenance if you want it.

Questions

What homeowners ask.

How much water will this actually use?
Less than hand-watering, if it is designed and scheduled correctly — and considerably more if it is not. The controller matters as much as the pipe: a system running a fixed schedule through a rainy June is the most common source of an alarming water bill.
Do I need a permit and backflow test?
Most Twin Cities municipalities require backflow prevention and annual testing. We install to code, handle the documentation, and can do the annual test as part of your service.
Can you add drip to my existing system?
Usually yes. Converting shrub beds from spray to drip is one of the highest-value retrofits available — it cuts water use, keeps foliage dry, and reduces disease pressure.
When do you winterize?
October, before the first hard freeze. We schedule existing clients automatically so nobody has to remember. A missed blowout means split lines you will not discover until spring start-up.
