Rosemount homes

What landscaping in Rosemount usually involves.

Rosemount's housing stock jumped by more than 60 percent in the 2000s and keeps growing, mostly in subdivisions on the west side toward Apple Valley. Those homes come with the same builder-grade yards as anywhere else: compacted soil, a strip of sod, and no plan. East of downtown the lots get larger and older, and the work looks more like rural property management than suburban landscaping.

We do both. For the newer neighborhoods, that is first-time design — patios, front entries, privacy plantings, and the drainage work that comes before any of it. For the larger lots, it is grading, boulder walls, tree work, and maintenance programs sized for an acre rather than a quarter of one.

Rosemount is about fifteen minutes from our Eagan yard by Highway 3 or Highway 52.

Built for Rosemount yards

Three things we plan for here.

New-subdivision yards

The west side of Rosemount is full of homes less than fifteen years old with landscapes that were never designed. We start with soil and drainage, then build the plan the house deserves.

Larger lots to the east

Acreage properties need equipment sized for them. Our crews and machines come from the commercial side of the business, which makes grading, boulder walls, and tree work on a big lot routine.

Downtown and the older neighborhoods

The original core near Highway 3 has mature trees and landscapes from the 1970s and 80s. Those are renovation projects: front entries, walls, and plantings that respect what is already there.

“Of all the companies I called to give me an estimate, Maddi from ProScapes is the ONLY person who followed up with me. She is so conscientious, had great recommendations and took my drawings and turned them into a fabulous reality. Her team was on time, knew exactly what to do and were flexible with my suggestions while on site. They came back a year later to fix a couple of things that didn’t grow back. I recommended them to my neighbors and they too had a very positive experience.”

“We asked them to replace a deteriorating concrete block wall (which we never liked) with a wall of large natural boulders and, if they could, preserve some mature evergreens in the process, and they exceeded expectations. The outcome is beautiful and timeless.”

“ProScapes completed a large landscape/hardscape project for us, and it turned out beautifully. They were very responsive during the design phase and very patient as we worked through several adjustments. The crew was friendly and professional, and they maintained a clean job site. It was clear that the crew took pride in their work and wanted to ensure that we were happy with the end result.”

Our process

Six stages, and you approve before the money moves.

Consultation

A designer walks the property with you, listens to how you actually want to use the space, and flags anything structural — drainage, grade, access — before ideas get expensive.

Site analysis

Soil, sun, drainage, slope, utilities, and existing plant health. This is the stage that separates a design that works from a design that only looks good on paper.

Design

Plan drawings and material selection, with a cost range attached before anyone commits to a full construction set. You see what you’re buying.

Your review

You mark it up. We revise. Nothing gets ordered or scheduled until the plan and the number both have your signature on them.

Installation

Our crews, our equipment. Base photos before anything gets covered, site cleaned to working condition every evening, and a firm end date.

Walkthrough & warranty

We walk the finished work with you, show you how to care for it, and hand over the warranty. Then we’re available for the maintenance if you want it.

Questions

What Rosemount homeowners ask.

Do I need a permit for a retaining wall in Rosemount?
Under the Minnesota building code, a wall over four feet tall (bottom of footing to top) needs a building permit and an engineered design, reviewed by the City of Rosemount. We pull the permit and schedule the inspection as part of the project.
Do you work on acreage and rural lots?
Yes. Our equipment comes from the commercial side of the business, so large-lot grading, long boulder walls, tree removal, and maintenance programs for an acre or more are normal work for us.
How far is Rosemount from your yard?
About fifteen minutes from Eagan by Highway 3 or 52. Rosemount, Apple Valley, and Eagan are the core of our residential service area.
My subdivision has an HOA. Does that change anything?
It changes the paperwork, not the design. We prepare the drawings and material list your association asks for and have handled HOA approvals for homeowners before.
