Landscaping designApple Valley went from 585 people in 1960 to more than 45,000 by 2000, then ran out of buildable land. Almost every lot in the city was landscaped once, decades ago, by whoever built the house — and the city's rolling terrain, with a hundred feet of elevation change across town, means a lot of those lots have slopes that were never really solved.
That is where our work in Apple Valley concentrates: grading and drainage that keeps water away from the house, retaining walls that turn a slope into usable yard, and front entries that replace a 1980s shrub bed with something that fits the house now. Patios and outdoor living spaces follow, usually once the grade problem is out of the way.
Apple Valley is about fifteen minutes from our Eagan yard down Cedar Avenue, which is close enough that we treat it the same as home.

Tell us about the space. A designer will call to set up a time to walk it with you.
Apple Valley's terrain rolls more than most of the south metro. A lot of our work here starts with a leaning timber wall or a backyard that is all hill, and ends with a boulder or block wall and a flat place to sit.
Water moving downhill toward a house is the most common thing we find on an Apple Valley site walk. We solve it in the design, before the patio goes in, not after.
With no new subdivisions, Apple Valley projects are renovations: working around established trees, matching existing materials, and fitting a plan to a lot that already has a history.
Start with one space or the whole property. Drawings and a cost range before anything is ordered.

“Of all the companies I called to give me an estimate, Maddi from ProScapes is the ONLY person who followed up with me. She is so conscientious, had great recommendations and took my drawings and turned them into a fabulous reality. Her team was on time, knew exactly what to do and were flexible with my suggestions while on site. They came back a year later to fix a couple of things that didn’t grow back. I recommended them to my neighbors and they too had a very positive experience.”
“We asked them to replace a deteriorating concrete block wall (which we never liked) with a wall of large natural boulders and, if they could, preserve some mature evergreens in the process, and they exceeded expectations. The outcome is beautiful and timeless.”
“ProScapes completed a large landscape/hardscape project for us, and it turned out beautifully. They were very responsive during the design phase and very patient as we worked through several adjustments. The crew was friendly and professional, and they maintained a clean job site. It was clear that the crew took pride in their work and wanted to ensure that we were happy with the end result.”
A designer walks the property with you, listens to how you actually want to use the space, and flags anything structural — drainage, grade, access — before ideas get expensive.
Soil, sun, drainage, slope, utilities, and existing plant health. This is the stage that separates a design that works from a design that only looks good on paper.
Plan drawings and material selection, with a cost range attached before anyone commits to a full construction set. You see what you’re buying.
You mark it up. We revise. Nothing gets ordered or scheduled until the plan and the number both have your signature on them.
Our crews, our equipment. Base photos before anything gets covered, site cleaned to working condition every evening, and a firm end date.
We walk the finished work with you, show you how to care for it, and hand over the warranty. Then we’re available for the maintenance if you want it.
Self-performed crews, written service levels, and photo documentation of every visit — staged from our Eagan yard.
